General Terms (All Services)

Approval of Additional Work

We never do work beyond what you booked without your approval. If we find something that needs attention, we'll contact you with a quote and send an estimate for online approval before continuing.

Payment & Release

Your item is released (picked up or shipped) once your invoice is paid in full.

Pickup & Storage

When your item is ready, we'll email your invoice and a ready notice. Local pickups are free for 7 days after the ready notice. A storage fee of $5 per day begins on day 8. Mail-in longarm clients have 30 days to pay before the storage fee begins (see Longarm Quilting below). We send reminders on days 7, 14, and 30. The day-30 reminder is sent by certified mail.

Extended Storage by Arrangement

Traveling or need more time? Contact us before drop-off, and we'll agree in writing on an extended pickup date. Storage fees won't apply until after that date.

UNCLAIMED ITEMS — IMPORTANT NOTICE

PER SOUTH CAROLINA CODE § 29-15-90, ANY MACHINE, QUILT, OR OTHER ITEM NOT PICKED UP AND PAID IN FULL WITHIN SIX (6) MONTHS AFTER THE READY NOTICE (OR AFTER AN AGREED EXTENDED-STORAGE PICKUP DATE) MAY BE SOLD, DONATED, OR RECYCLED BY STITCHWELL QUILT CO TO RECOVER CHARGES.

Condition on Arrival

We photograph items when they arrive. If we notice existing damage, wear, holes, or other concerns, we'll contact you before beginning work. We are not responsible for conditions that existed before your item came to us.

Repairs & Declined Work

  • If you decline a recommended repair and your machine still runs, we'll complete your Machine Spa Day, note the declined repair on your invoice, and charge the standard service fee.

Travel within 15 miles is included. From 16 to 75 miles, add a $125 flat fee. Beyond 75 miles, add $125 plus $1.00 per mile.

Longarm Quilting

Pricing

Longarm quilting is billed by the square inch, with a $50 order minimum (excluding batting). Batting, optional services, return shipping, and sales tax are billed separately. See our Longarm Services FAQ for current rates.

Preparing Your Quilt

Quilt tops, backings, and batting must meet the requirements in our Longarm Services FAQ, including backing and batting at least 4" larger than the top on all sides, backing seams pressed open, and selvedges trimmed. If something arrives that doesn't meet these requirements, we'll contact you to discuss options before quilting.

Estimate & Approval

After your quilt arrives and is measured, we'll send an estimate. Quilting begins once you approve it.

Turnaround

Typical turnaround is 3–4 weeks from approval of your estimate.

Payment

  • Local clients: Payment is due at pickup.
  • Mail-in clients: Your final invoice, including return shipping, is due within 30 days. Your quilt ships the next business day after payment. Storage fees begin on day 31 if the invoice remains unpaid.

Return Shipping & Insurance

Return shipping includes $100 of insurance. If you'd like additional coverage, let us know before your final invoice is sent, and we'll add it to your shipping charges.

Fabric & Piecing

Longarm quilting puts tension on a quilt top. We'll handle your quilt with care, but we are not responsible for fabric shrinkage, color bleeding, or seams that separate because of fabric quality or piecing.
